Quote of the Day
What if we just acted like everything was easy?
Mary Anne Radmacher
What if?
Oh the possibilities this would offer an overanalyzer, second-guesser like me!
What if it was as simple as going with it, tricking the mind by putting actions first?

Quote of the Day
The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes.
Frank Lloyd Wright
It's easy when things take place on a screen. When Carrie breaks up with the perfect Aidan, because he just isn't Big, but we all know Mr. Big is coming. We all expect it. So we cheer her on, we believe in her, we learn with her the life lesson of giving up on something amazing, because something even better is definitely on it's way.
It's also easy when things jump from you from a page. When it's so easy to agree with "you live and you learn" and really believe you'll learn. Just like that. Just by making the mistakes, just by automatic growth. When it's the most obvious and satisfying fact that "it's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything ."
But it's not as easy to live life. Appreciating every day - and its life lessons in real life - even harder.
But I'm getting there.

Quote of the Day
Into each day...
H.M.S.
I'm trying to teach myself:
Each day is filled with possibilities.
Each day starts with a morning and ends with the night for a reason.
A day is much more manageable a unit than, say....a lifetime.
If I'm happy with today, and I make my life up from many todays like today, good things are bound to happen.
I'm trying to teach myself:
Don't look into yesterday or into three years from now to try and decide what to make of today.
Into each day...incorporate what today can encompass - no more and no less.
Into each day...step boldly.

Quote of the Day
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery while on a detour.
Unknown
Classic quote.
And it fits perfectly into the flow of this weekend. Barely anything has been going as planned...several last minute changes, obstacles, and detours later, I´ve had a glorious time seeing friends I would´ve never thought I´d get a chance to see. Some after 2 years, some after 8 whole years, and one absolutely new humanbeing! <3
This evening´s saved for some down time with the BFF, savoring a long-awaited movie.

Quote of the Day
The only man who is really free is the one who can turn down an invitation to dinner without giving an excuse.
Jules Renard
That it´s ok to be yourself. That it´s ok not to feel like it. That it´s ok to disagree, to choose otherwise, and to say it. We are so overly sensitive so often. We get preoccupied by reading too much into things, by adding our own flavor to a simple "no" or "later" or "How about you consider this?"..And it´s all so unnecessary.

Quote of the Day
Fashion is what you adopt when you don't know who you are.
Quentin Crisp
There's an interesting trend of being un-trendy, being "unique", un-fashionable, ugly even, that seems to have taken the world - and not just the fashion world - by a storm. "You have to hate hipsters to be a true hipster," I was once educated. Now.....I don't know what to say. Has this craze to "not care" become the most prominent obsession of our day? And if you don't care only to fit in better, is this the ultimate loss of personality or expression, far beyond choosing which to follow out of the latest fads?
And, of course, fashion doesn't simply have to relate to clothes, accessories, and beauty. Adopting a religion, a taste in music or movies, a diet, or any opinion and idea that seems to be gaining widespread attention at any given moment is a tempting way of putting the difficult task of defining myself into the willing hands of everyone else but myself.

Maybe it's other people's reactions to us that make us who we are.

A day without laughing is a day wasted.
Ronan Keating
Sometimes, it's good to laugh at ourselves. Laugh at us reacting to things too seriously, reacting to people too impressed and in awe, make things bigger - or smaller - than they really are. And sometimes it's just good to laugh at ourselves and life, pure and simple.
